Austin A Bell Condominiums is a historic landmark building located on First Avenue between Bell and Battery Street in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood.
The original 1889 hotel was almost destroyed by a fire in 1981, but the strong brick facade managed to survive. It was carefully restored from 1997-1999 and turned into a condominium complex with two large retail units on street level, a mezzanine level office unit, and 45 flats and lofts with water, city, or courtyard views, ranging in size from studios to 2-bedroom, including some with private roof decks.
The lobby features wood columns with brick walls salvaged and restored from the original structure and historic photos of the Austin Bell Building in the early days, as well as the neighborhood. The building also features a lush 2nd floor courtyard, and a rooftop deck with panoramic views of the city and Space Needle.
